About IIT Indore

Indian Institute of Technology Indore (IIT Indore) is an institute of National importance located in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. It was one of the eight new Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) established by the Government of India in 2009. Internationally, IIT Indore ranked 454 in the QS World University Rankings of 2024 and 185 in Asia. It was ranked 501–600 in the world by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings of 2024, 131 in Asia in 2025, and 84 among emerging economies. In India, it was ranked 12th among engineering IITs by the National Institutional Ranking Framework in 2025. The abstracting and indexing database Scopus has rated IIT Indore as the top among the new IITs. IIT Indore is located at Simrol, Khandwa Road. The campus sprawls across 501.42 acres.

About the Conference

The first conference of this series, “Sustainable Chemistry-I, 2023” was held on February 21-22, 2023 at IIT Indore; "Sustainable Chemistry-II, 2024” was held on February 20-22, 2024 at Kenilworth Resort, Goa, and "Sustainable Chemistry-III, 2025” was held on March 18-20, 2025 at IIT Indore. This year, the fourth edition of this conference is going to be held on December 11-13, under Indo-Norwegian Cooperation Programme 2 (INCP2) between IIT Indore and NTNU.

Eligibility Criteria

  • 1.The innovation must be applicable to rural or semi-urban areas.
  • 2.The solution should be innovative and unique.
  • 3.Add value to customers and should be commercially scalable.
  • 4.
    Showcasing of technologies/products/prototypes/designs at the event is compulsory. Showcasing Formats:
    (i) Product (ii) Model (iii) Poster
  • 5.Start-up Stage: Innovator/team having at least few customers on board and looking for scaling up and commercialization.
  • 6.Schools can submit up to two innovations, with two students per innovation.

Registration Fee includes accommodation, breakfast, lunch, banquet dinner on the conference days, and entry to all the lectures. ( Banquet Dinner (3 nights) is included with Registration fees. For late registration, ₹ 7000 needs to be paid extra )

  2. 2.All submitted abstracts will undergo peer review. The abstract should clearly indicate the aims and conclusions of the work to be described in the final paper.

Seeds for Tomorrow

  • Young generation can be a valuable part of this conclave by bringing fresh ideas and learning from experts.
  • CRDT is inviting the students from various schools to become a part of this conclave, by submitting their innovative ideas for rural development.
  • Students or schools can submit their ideas with the heading Seeds For Tomorrow.
  • Entries can include a short video, presentation or one page write describing the innovative idea.
  • Each team or entry should consist of a teacher who will accompany the students to the conclave.

Accommodation

Rural Innovators Conclave II is going to take place at IIT Indore from March 21 – 22, 2025. The conclave is being held in physical mode and active participation from various sectors across the country is anticipated. To cater to the need for accommodation of the participants, the following facilities are arranged:

(1) Institute Accommodation

A limited number of institute accommodations will be available for the participants. The preference will be given to the participants traveling alone and having Abstracts accepted in Rural Innovators Conclave II 2025.

(2) Outside Accommodation

How to Reach

✈️ Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport

1) Book a taxi/cab/auto to reach IIT Indore directly. This will cost around a maximum of Rs. 1000. Distance: Approximately 35.3 kms. Time: 90 mins approx.
2(a) Take a taxi/cab/auto to Bhawarkua. Cost: Rs. 250 approx. Time: 30 mins approx.
OR
(b) Take a city bus (M-24B, C-3, 7 etc.) to Bhawarkua then take the M19 city bus to Gate no. 1, IIT Indore Simrol. Cost: Rs. 20-23 approx. Track via the CHALO app.

🚂 Indore Railway Station

1) Book a taxi/cab/auto to reach IIT Indore directly. This will cost around a maximum of Rs. 800. Distance: Approximately 25 kms. Time: 75 mins approx.
2(a) Take a taxi/cab/auto to Bhawarkua. Cost: Rs. 100 approx. Time: 15 mins approx.
OR
(b) Take a city bus to Bhawarkua then take the M19 city bus to Gate no. 1, IIT Indore Simrol. Cost: Rs. 20-23 approx. Track via the CHALO app.
